The Helping Children and Families Association (HCFA) is a charity, established in 2005 to continue the work started by the Armidale Network of ‘Hope for the Children Foundation’ about five years earlier.

Our Mission

The mission of HCFA is to connect families of young children with the local community through

providing the support previously offered from extended family and neighbours.

We achieve this through:

  • the work of dedicated and caring volunteers to visit any family with a child under six

  • publication of the ‘Armidale Families Guide’ in 2014 and 2018, and

  • continual review of what support the organisation is able to provide for local families.

“It’s definitely a help to have someone come to the home each week. It is good to have someone else to talk to and be there to call on for support”
